    Projects of limited size promoting environmental protection, rational use of energy, improvement of infrastructure (including health, education and social housing in well defined urban schemes).

    Objectives

    The proposed global loan will finance small- and medium-scale projects in the fields of environmental protection, energy saving and infrastructure (including health and education), the support of which is in line with both national and Community objectives. A large portion of the projects will be located in the assisted areas in eastern Germany, which is entirely an Objective 1 region. For the above stated reasons the global loan is deemed eligible under Article 267 points a) and c) of the EU Treaty.
