Summary sheet
- Energy - Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply
The operation consists of a co-investment vehicle that will invest equity in a "non-blind pool" of exclusive projects focused on Dutch heating networks.
The aim is to replace the predominant gas fired heating with local renewable energy-based district heating networks, which will service a wide range of customers, including residential, commercial and municipal buildings. The shift to a sustainable heating supply will increase security of energy supply, reduce CO2 emissions and consequently bring a positive socio-environmental impact.
Details of the co-investment vehicle's environmental and social due diligence procedures for ensuring compliance with relevant EU and national legislation and EIB's environmental and Social Standards as well as the promoter's capacity to assess and monitor environmental and social risks and impacts, will be reviewed during appraisal.
The promoter shall take all the requisite measures to ensure that contracts for the implementation of the projects financed by the co-investment vehicle will be tendered in accordance with the relevant applicable EU procurement legislation.
