Description
Objectives

The project consists of the construction of two education and training centres in the Syunik province in Southern Armenia. The two centres will provide free-of-charge after-school educational opportunities and access to currently non-existing services for up to 6000 children and young adults aged 6-18 years from 50 rural communities.

While focusing on students from rural areas, which face the greatest challenges regarding access to quality educational opportunities and the acquisition of employability skills, the project will provide students with access to educational facilities and equipment and services (e.g. career counselling, health education) not otherwise available in this remote region. It will implement a competency-based approach in order to effectively translate hours of schooling into the acquisition of knowledge, skills and competencies and shall offer training opportunities for teachers from the public schools system, e.g. with regard to the use of modern technology and innovative pedagogies.
