    Description
    Objectives

    Programme loan (PL) to support public sector counter-parties in containing the COVID-19 pandemic: emergency response, pandemic preparedness interventions (including vaccines purchasing and vaccination campaigns) and health sector resilience interventions for countries in South Asia.

    The proposed PL aims to provide financing to public sector counterparties to support (i) the extended emergency response, where the focus is gradually shifting from acute treatment to a prevention-oriented vaccine-based approach, and (ii) the strengthening of the countries' medical health systems: pandemic preparedness and health system resilience interventions.
