    Objectives

    Loans and guarantees for financing small and medium sized investment promoted by SMEs.

    The SME Initiative in Spain is expected to make a significant contribution to sustainable growth and employment through the facilitation of credit at attractive terms. It aims to enhance the Bank’s support to the economic development of SMEs in Spain. The initiative involves collaboration between the European Commission with the EIB Group, the Spanish national authority of structural funds and a selected number of Spanish regions. Given the expected contribution of the EU programme Horizon 2020, it is expected that the SME Initiative Spain will also benefit research, development and innovation projects carried out by SMEs in line with the Horizon 2020 eligibility criteria.
