Objectives

Improvement and completion of the sewerage and water supply systems in four agglomerations (Dubnica nad Vahom, Ladce, Koseca and Ilava) in Trencin self-governing region, Slovak Republic. This project represents an allocation under the NDP Framework Loan II.

The Project comprises measures to improve collection and treatment of waste water, as well as providing drinking water to residents currently not served. These investments are part of the promoter’s investment programme for the years 2011-2015, addressing the need for renewal and extension of the existing network, higher efficiency of the infrastructure, improved service to inhabitants, as well compliance with EU Directives.

Procurement

The investments included within the Project will help meeting the 2015 deadline for Slovak Republic of the Urban Waste Water Treatment Directive (91/271/EEC) which is in line with the objectives of the EU Water Framework Directive (2000/60/EC). The project falls under the EIA directive 2011/92/EU. It was screened out by the competent authority and no EIA is required.

The Project falls under EU procurement legislation Directive 2004/18/EC for public works, supplies and services respectively as well as Directive 2004/17/EC. The Bank will require the Promoter to ensure that the investment to be financed will comply with EU procurement rules.
