The impact of the investment programme will be beneficial for the environment in the Brussels region (improved stormwater and wastewater collection, less flooding) and for the environment in general (reduced discharge of polluted water in this sensitive area's water courses). In the course of the appraisal, the project's compliance with Directive 97/11/EC (EIA Directive) and Directive 92/43/EEC (Habitats Directive) will be checked.

The procurement procedures for this project are subject to EU Directives 2004/17/EC and 2004/18/EC. Compliance with these directives will be checked in the course of the appraisal.
