Objectives

The building of a new single site tertiary hospital on the existing site as well as investments in the three remaining facilities.

To concentrate all services which are currently spread over 50 different buildings as well as to establish efficient centralised services.

Environmental aspects
Procurement

Hospitals are not specifically mentioned in the EIA Directive on Environmental Impact Assessment, though the project may be covered by Annex II of the Directive in relation to urban development. The Bank’s services will verify during appraisal whether an EIA is required and the screening decision of the Competent Authority.

The promoter is required to respect national and European legislation applicable to public authorities’ procurement. The Bank requires the promoter to ensure that all relevant contracts for the implementation of the project have been or shall be tendered in accordance with the relevant EU procurement legislation.
