Objectives

Credit Line focusing on small-scale investment projects in the environmental sector in particular including operations in the environmental protection and renewable energy segments. The projects will be located in Germany and as the case may be in other EU countries.

The proposed credit line intends to lower the funding cost for small-scale investment projects through the co-operation with Commerzbank AG. The operation will thereby promote relevant EU objectives by supporting eligible investment projects that otherwise could not be reached by EIB directly due to their limited size. Commerzbank has confirmed its interest to support the final beneficiaries and investments in the targeted market segments and is already in the process of identifying operations to be financed from the proceeds of the EIB credit line.
