Description
Objectives

Renovation of the existing building (KAD1) and extension (KAD2) of the current premises of the European Parliament's Konrad Adenauer building in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

The purpose of the project is to bring together on a single Kirchberg Plateau site, adjoining the existing Konrad Adenauer building (KAD1), all the infrastructure required to accommodate the activities of the Secretariat General of the European Parliament, which are currently scattered across Luxembourg city. This will serve to streamline the institution's operating costs and provide it with modern facilities, tailored to today's communications and maintenance standards as well as its requirements in terms of comfort, ergonomics, security, energy savings and overall cost.

Environmental aspects
Procurement

The project falls under the requirements laid down in the EIA Directive 85/337/EEC amended by Directive 97/11/EC and 2003/35/EC. The Competent Authority screened the project in and an Environmental Impact Assessment is being carried out.

Compliance with EU directives and national regulations on procurement is required.
