Objectives

Construction of a new metro line (“Linea 9”, 49 km in total length) part of the underground network in the city of Barcelona.

Further improvement of the integration of the urban public transportation system of Barcelona.

Environmental aspects
Procurement

The project falls under Annex II of EIA Directive and, upon the corresponding requests by the environmental authorities, all environmental impact processes judged necessary have been successfully completed between 2002 and 2007.

The promoter is required to respect the Community directives as regards procurement procedures.
