    Description
    Objectives

    Rehabilitation and uprating of drinking water production, transmission and distribution capacity and extension of water supply via standpipes in poorly served districts.

    To improve the urban water service in terms of quality and volume following a recent sectoral reform involving privatisation of the entity. The project is expected to help provide consumers with some 250 000 additional individual drinking water connections by 2015.

    Procurement

    The promoter will be required to comply with the terms of EU and Cameroon environmental legislation.

    The EIB will require CAMWATER to comply with EU procurement directives and publish the contracts in the Official Journal of the European Union, if appropriate.
