    Description
    Objectives

The project concerns the construction and start of operation of a new plant for the production of high performance tyres for passenger cars and for light commercial vehicles, located in Slatina, Romania (about 180 km west of Bucharest).

The creation of jobs will significantly contribute to an amelioration of the purchasing power and standard of living in the region. The project is meant to help the promoter to satisfy growing demand for tyres used on vehicles with higher performance and SUVs.

    Environmental aspects
    Procurement

An Environmental Impact Study (EIS) has been prepared, no complaints had been brought forward and the construction permit was issued. No protected (nature) sites [according to Law 137/1995] are affected by the project. The production processes do not include significant pollution potential.

The promoter is a private company not operating in the utilities sector and is thus not covered by EU Directives on procurement.
