The proposed project consists of upgrading and rehabilitation works at the Fiumicino airport. The main project components will include a new aircraft docking pier, additional apron capacity, a new taxiway to optimise runway utilisation, the rehabilitation of the old domestic terminal, the harmonization of signalling, and short and long-term parking facilities.
The project aims at improving the quality of the service delivered to passengers and optimising the efficiency of operations.
The project’s compliance with all applicable national and EU environmental legislation will be verified during appraisal.
The Bank will require the Promoter to ensure that contracts for the implementation of the project are tendered in accordance with the relevant applicable EU procurement legislation, with parallel publication of tender notices in the EU Official Journal, as and where appropriate.
