Based in Emilia-Romagna where it holds leading market shares in both funding and lending activities, BPER has carried out over the last ten years a significant external expansion through acquisition of a number of smaller banks particularly in the South of Italy.

Objectives

Global loan facility for the financing of SME investments (firms with less than 250 employees) in industry, services and tourism as well as small and medium sized human capital projects throughout Italy.

At least 70% will be utilised in favour of SMEs.

To sustain mainly projects aiming to reinforce the productivity and competitiveness of SMEs as well as other investments that meet the EIB’s eligibility criteria.

Complying with EU and national legislation on environmental protection and right of on-site inspection.

Complying with EU procurement procedures. For large investments the Bank recommends that international bidding procedures be followed whenever possible, even if EU directives do not apply.
