Procurement

Within the EU, the project would fall under Annex II of Directive 97/11/EC, leaving it to the competent national authority to decide on the requirement for an EIA. In this case, although not formally required by national legislation, the Bank has requested an Environmental Impact Study (EIS) be initiated.

The power plant will be procured on a turnkey-basis following the procedures of international tendering including publication in the OJEU according to the Bank’s Guide to Procurement.
