    Procurement

The purchase of new rolling stock to replace old equipment will help to make rail transport more attractive than road transport and therefore lessen the number of accidents. This improvement should also help to reduce pollution by diverting traffic from road to rail and to contribute to the development of a sustainable transport system in the region.

The Pays de la Loire region is an organisation subject to EU procurement directives. All contracts financed by the Bank will be awarded in accordance with the provisions of European Union law.
