    Objectives

    The proposed project comprises the design and construction of a new terminal (Terminal North II) adjacent to the existing one, to be dedicated to future Schengen traffic. It will also include the related improvements to landside/airside infrastructure.

    By increasing capacity, the project will contribute significantly to improving air transport links between the EU and the Czech Republic and thus promoting the country’s integration with the existing Member States. It will also facilitate tourism and other economic development in the Czech Republic.

    Environmental aspects
    Procurement

    An independent, full EIA has been undertaken based upon outline plans of terminal development. After a public hearing, the recommendations of the assessment were endorsed by the Ministry of Environment on 29 October 2001.

    All procurement of construction contracts will be carried out using open procedures advertised in the OJEC.
