The proposed project consists in the construction and extension of school buildings including special classrooms/laboratories and the installation of information and communication technologies (ICT) equipment in schools.
It forms part of the Government MLT plan for the enhancement of education infrastructure of the national education system in Cyprus in line with EU standards.
The project, consisting of the construction and extension of buildings of relatively small size, does not require a formal EIA, has received all relevant permits and includes a number of mitigating measures. These aspects will be verified during appraisal.
The promoter follows EU procurement procedures, with all contracts over the relevant thresholds submitted to international tendering with OJEC publication.

Complaints mechanism
Any complaint regarding alleged maladministration can be lodged via the EIB Complaints Mechanism. The European Ombudsman acts as an independent external accountability mechanism of the EIB.
Zero tolerance against fraud and corruption
