Summary sheet
The project consists of the extension and up grading of the promoter's existing facilities (sewage treatment plants, storm water treatment plants and sewage collection facilities).
The project will contribute to improving the quality of German surface waters alongside the Ruhr and Rhine rivers. Upgrading the promoter's existing facilties with state-of-the-art equipment will improve efficiency and reduce cost for the promoter's members as well as the end-users.
The need to prepare an EIA for certain components will be analysed in order to comply with the national environmental procedures in line with EU directive 85/337/EEC amended by 97/11/EC.
Procurement procedures applied by the promoter are in compliance with the relevant German legislation and Directive 93/37/EEC.
