Román Escolano is appointed Member of the Management Committee

On the basis of a nomination from the Kingdom of Spain, by common accord with the Portuguese Republic, the Board of Directors decided, on 18 July 2014, to submit a proposal to the Board of Governors for the appointment of Mr Román Escolano as Vice-President and Member of the Management Committee, to succeed Ms Magdalena Álvarez Arza, who had tendered her resignation.
The written procedure inviting the Board of Governors to vote on the proposed appointment was launched on 21 July 2014.
The decision to appoint Mr Escolano was taken on 14 August 2014, the date on which the requisite majority of votes was reached. Mr Román Escolano has therefore been appointed as Vice-President and Member of the Management Committee, with effect from 1 September 2014.
