Publication of EIB Guidelines on Fighting Corruption and Fraud

The 9^th of December marks the International Anti-Corruption Day and the adoption of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption. The focus of the International Anti-Corruption Day this year is “Recover with Integrity” to raise awareness about the effects of corruption in times of crisis but also to emphasise that recovery from this crisis can only be achieved with integrity and accountability.

In a message from its President, Mr. Philippe Maystadt, the European Investment Bank announces its support for the United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime (UNODC)'s International Anti-Corruption Day (December 9).

On 8 April 2008, the EIB Board of Directors approved (i) the Anti-Fraud Policy and (ii) the Procedures for the Conduct of Investigations. The Anti-Fraud Policy replaces the earlier "EIB Guidelines on Fighting Fraud and Corruption" from May 2006 and the Investigation Procedures codify existing rules, procedures and practices.
