By letter dated 11 June 2020, Mr Audrius LINARTAS (Executive Director at the Authority of Audit, Accounting, Property Valuation and Insolvency Management under the Ministry of Finance, Lithuania) was nominated by the Republic of Lithuania, by common accord with the constituency of the Republic of Estonia, the Republic of Latvia, the Republic of Austria, the Republic of Finland and the Kingdom of Sweden for appointment as a member of the Audit Committee of the European Investment Bank.

Mr LINARTAS will succeed Mr Mindaugas MACIJAUSKAS, who resigned from the Audit Committee on the 06 May 2020 due to his appointment as the Auditor General of Lithuania.

On 22 June 2020, the Board of Governors was invited to vote on the proposed appointment.

The decision to appoint Mr Audrius LINARTAS was taken on 9 July 2020, the date on which the requisite majority of Governors’ votes was reached. The new member of the Audit Committee is appointed for a non-renewable term of office expiring in 2022, at the end of the day either of the Annual Meeting or of the approval of the financial statements for the previous financial year, whichever is later.
