Luxembourg contributes €2 million to EIB-managed FEMIP Trust Fund for projects preparation and implementation in the MENA region
Luxembourg’s Finance Minister Gilles Roth has renewed his country’s commitment to the Facility for Euro-Mediterranean Investment and Partnership Trust Fund, or FEMIP trust fund for short, by signing a €2 million contribution letter today in the country’s capital. Luxembourg’s contribution brings the size of the trust fund to €72 million and will allow deploying further technical assistance in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA Region).

Luxembourg: EIB backs Artec 3D’s cutting-edge RDI in 3D scanning technologies
The European Investment Bank and Luxembourg-based 3D scanning developer Artec 3D enter into a long-term partnership with €15 million committed to R&D support over the first three years. The EIB’s venture debt will enable Artec 3D to advance its next-generation 3D scanning technologies and algorithms for processing 3D data, thus supporting critical European technology and innovation. The investments that Artec 3D will pursue into new product and software development activities will also feature the use of AI. The R&D will take place primarily in Luxembourg and partially in Portugal. The EIB financing is supported by the European Commission’s InvestEU programme.

EIB mobilises capital markets for gender equality and women’s economic empowerment
The European Investment Bank has announced the extension of its Sustainability Awareness Bond (SAB) to cover two new social objectives: “gender equality” and “women’s economic empowerment”. It comes ahead of International Women’s Day at the EIB Group Forum which has brought together partners from national finance ministries, and leaders from the public and private sectors for the gathering entitled, “Investing in a more sustainable and secure Europe.”
