On March 11, the Narodowy Bank Polski (NBP) and the European Investment Bank (EIB) are jointly organising a conference on Retooling Europe’s Economy. Speakers and presenters will discuss the findings of the 2018/2019 EIB Investment Report and the results for Poland, providing a comprehensive overview of the developments and drivers of investment and financing in the EU and more specifically in Poland.
This year’s report, entitled ‘Retooling Europe’s Economy’ addresses a moment of economic recovery in which investment growth, overall, is strong, but downside risks to the economic outlook are rising. It identifies many ways in which current investment is still structurally inadequate, given the legacy effects of the recent crisis and the great challenges that lie ahead. The report shows an urgent need to re-tool Europe, from its infrastructure and innovation ecosystem, through to its businesses and workers, to enhance prosperity and social cohesion.
