The Bank of Finland and the European Investment Bank are hosted the conference: ‘Investment in times of uncertainty/unknowns".
The conference focused on Investment needs and climate in Finland. It assessed the extent to which firms are addressing the need to make their businesses more green and digital, against the backdrop of the pandemic recovery programmes and unprecedented recent shocks. The conference brought together a group of economists, policymakers, as well as representatives from financial institutions and the business community.
After the opening remarks by the Bank of Finland’s member of the board Tuomas Välimäki and European Investment Bank Vice President Thomas Östros, the results of the EIB Investment survey for Finland were presented, followed by a presentation by Professor Otto Toivanen (Aalto University). The conference also hosted a high level panel, focusing on investment dynamics and investment gaps in Finland.
