The European Investment Bank (EIB) and the Department for Business Innovation & Skills (BIS), in collaboration with HM Treasury, the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) and the British Business Bank, organised a corporate seminar on 12 May about funding opportunities and the extensive range of support available to innovative businesses in the UK.
The EIB and BIS presented how they work together to find innovative mechanisms for supporting UK businesses investing in infrastructure as well as research, development and innovation. The presentation focused on the funding opportunities and EIB lending criteria, while two case studies demonstrated the concrete financial support provided by the EIB. Also, BIS provided an update on their Industrial Strategy and their collaboration with the EIB.
The event was followed by questions from the audience and a networking reception.
Keynote speakers included David Willetts MP, Minister of State for Universities and Science as well as EIB Vice-President Jonathan Taylor.
