    Case Description

    Complaint

The complainants presented concerns related to the adequacy of compensation for their property as well as the timing and impact of the upcoming construction works.

    Work performed

During the initial assessment phase, both the complainants and the promoter expressed a willingness to engage constructively and work towards mutually acceptable solutions. In light of this, the Complaints Mechanism proposed a collaborative dispute resolution process.

Through the facilitated dialogue, the parties established a constructive channel of communication and agreed on practical arrangements to address the expropriation process and the impacts of the construction works going forward. The process resulted in a final settlement agreement, the implementation of which will be monitored by the Complaints Mechanism.

By mutual agreement, the parties decided to exclude the adequacy of compensation from the scope of the dispute resolution process, given that this matter is currently subject to ongoing court proceedings. The EIB Services will continue to monitor the project’s compliance with the EIB Environmental and Social Standards, including the compensation process, in accordance with the applicable procedures.
