    Description
    Objectives

Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia, has experienced an important growth of its population during this decade. After an important decline in population during the 1990’s (leaving the city to the metropolitan area of Barcelona), the population has increased by 6.6% since 2000, reaching 1.6 million inhabitants in 2007.

The project is a multi-sector framework loan to finance investment schemes during the current municipal term of office 2008-2011 in the fields of street lighting, street urbanisation, flood prevention, traffic management as well as education and social facilities.

    Environmental aspects
    Procurement

The promoter is subject to and follows public procurement rules according to EU regulations. Tenders will be organised in compliance with EU requirements, with publication of tender notices in the EU Official Journal for projects above thresholds.
