Following a cabinet reshuffle within the Government of Romania, Mr Darius-Bogdan Vâlcov was appointed Minister of Public Finance. He also becomes EIB Governor for Romania, succeeding Ms Ioana-Maria Petrescu.
Since September 2014, Mr Vâlcov was serving as Minister Delegate for Budget and was a member of the Senate since December 2012.
Between June 2004 and March 2012, Mr Vâlcov was Mayor of Slatina.
From 2000 to 2004, he was General Manager at the Romenian Popular Bank for Development in Slatina and became Economic Manager at S.C Octogon S.R.L. in Slatina in 2004.
Mr Vâlcov holds a Ph.D in Economics from the Faculty of Economic Studies in Foreign Languages of Bucharest and a Law Degree from the Faculty of Law Spiru Haret of Bucharest.
