The European Investment Bank’s financial backing for IHS Group’s first green affordable housing fund in Kenya is yielding important results. The bank’s development arm, EIB Global, has committed €21.5 million in equity financing to the IHS Kenya Green Housing Fund for the construction and acquisition of energy-efficient and affordable housing in Kenya.
The European Investment Bank’s development arm (EIB Global) will help Kenya’s largest hospital expand and green its energy supply. EIB Global will advise Kenyatta National Hospital in Nairobi on the installation of a solar-power system.
The President of the Republic of Burundi today officially inaugurated the Jiji hydroelectric power plant, in the presence of a large delegation of national authorities and representatives of the development partners that co-financed the project. Located in Bururi province, this large-scale infrastructure marks a key step forward in the country’s pursuit of energy self-sufficiency. It is also a strong signal for an investment-friendly climate to ensure more inclusive and sustainable economic development for Burundi.
