Austria to expand renewable energy supply with EIB financing of €57 million for super-hybrid park in Burgenland
The European Investment Bank (EIB) is providing financing of €57 million for Austrian energy company PÜSPÖK to expand hybrid renewable-energy infrastructure in Austria. The EIB support will help PÜSPÖK develop one of Europe’s largest integrated hybrid energy sites in Nickelsdorf, a town in the eastern Austrian state of Burgenland.
Austria: City of Linz to upgrade energy and water operations with €200 million in EIB financing
The European Investment Bank (EIB) is lending LINZ AG, the utility company of the Austrian city of the same name, €200 million to integrate energy, water and wastewater networks into a single system that will be greener and more efficient. The project will reduce the carbon footprint of Austria’s third-largest city and improve services for around 400,000 people as well as numerous businesses in the Linz area.
Austrian tourism businesses to get €100 million in favourable financing under EIB accord with bank OeHT
Austrian tourism businesses including hotels will be eligible for as much as €100 million in favourable financing as a result of a new commitment by the European Investment Bank (EIB). The EIB is lending €50 million to the Austrian Hotel and Tourism Bank, or OeHT, which will channel the credit to a range of operators and match the sum. The funds will be deployed under the Federal Commercial Tourism Promotion Scheme, which the OeHT administers on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs, Energy and Tourism (BMWET).
