Objectives

Global loan facility to finance projects in industry, agro-industry, infrastructure, tourism, energy and telecommunications, and related services.

To promote new investments in the region to increase the productivity and competitiveness of small and medium size companies; to safeguard and increase employment opportunities and indirectly to reduce poverty and increase human welfare.

The intermediary will be required to pay particular attention, during the appraisal of investments, to assessing environmental aspects. Allocations will be required to comply with national environmental standards and with EIB's environmental reporting requirements for operations of this type.
