Objectives

The project entails investment in 83 intercity train-sets and 6 Øresund train-sets including additional services and facilities for maintenance and work-shops.

The project is proposed to increase the reliability, quality, and safety of trains operating on the Danish railway network.

Environmental aspects
Procurement

The project will contribute to sustainable transport solutions and is in line with the EU policy of promoting railway transport as an environmentally - friendly alternative to road transport.

The train-sets have been tendered in accordance with applicable EC directives, including advertisement in the Official Journal of the European Communities.
