The European Union (EU) and its bank, the European Investment Bank (EIB Global), have signed a 34 million euros investment grant to support the rehabilitation and expansion of Cabo Verde’s main ports and its main shipyard. This new grant complements 114 million euros in EIB financing signed in 2024 with the Republic of Cabo Verde. Together, the funding forms around 148 million euros on concessional financing package to enable strategic investments in port infrastructure.
The European Union (EU) is strengthening its support for Tunisia’s energy transition with €35.8 million in grant financing provided under the Neighbourhood Investment Platform (NIP), to accelerate the development of renewable energy generation and electricity infrastructure in the country.
The European Union and the EIB have announced a €12 million technical assistance grant (around TND 41 million) for Société tunisienne de l’électricité et du gaz (STEG). Today’s signing ceremony in Tunis was attended by European Commissioner for the Mediterranean Dubravka Šuica and Head of the EIB's Middle East and North Africa Division Ulrich H. Brunnhuber.
