Sub-Saharan Africa, the Caribbean and Pacific are not short of creativity and entrepreneurial spirit, but access to funding is an obstacle. The EIB’s Impact Financing Envelope seeks to address this, allowing the Bank to take more risks for greater developmental impact. Projects supported by the IFE could potentially benefit millions and millions of the world’s poorest and most marginalised people. Here are the first steps we have taken. Many more will follow.
