The EIB has worked with the Netherlands since 1969. We modernised infrastructure, improved access to finance for small businesses and invested in companies such as Verspillingsfabriek, which is transforming food waste into new products. The Bank gave a EUR 15 million loan to Ultimaker, a company that is helping amputees in the developing world by making products such as a 3D printer that can customise prosthetics.

The European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI)
EFSI is the central pillar of the Investment Plan for Europe. It helps overcome the investment gap, boost jobs and GDP and improve the lives of people across Europe, including The Netherlands. It finances strategic investments in key areas such as infrastructure, research and innovation, education, renewable energy and energy efficiency as well as providing risk finance to SMEs.
