    Description

    The project consists of the financing of the replacement of air navigation and communications equipment and systems of HungaroControl in order to maintain the highest levels of safety and security in Hungarian airspace.

    Objectives

    The project will guarantee that the highest levels of safety, security and efficiency are maintained across all levels of Hungarian airspace through the deployment of state-of-the-art equipment.

    Environmental aspects

    The project is an upgrade of the Promoter's existing facilities and systems. All environmental aspects and compliance with Directive 2014/52/EU amending the EIA Directive 2011/92/EU will be assessed at appraisal. The project is expected to improve the environmental performance of aviation by reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through shorter routes and reduced holding times. It is anticipated that the project will have a positive overall environmental impact.

    Procurement

    The Bank will require the Promoter to ensure that contracts for implementation of the project have been and will be tendered in accordance with the applicable EU procurement legislation: Directive 2014/24/EU and 2014/25/EU as well as Directive 92/13/EEC or Directive 89/665/EEC as interpreted by the Court of Justice of the EU, with publication of tender notices in the Official Journal of the EU, as and where required.
