Environmental aspects
Offshore wind farms fall under Annex II of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Directive (2011/92/EU, amended by Directive 2014/52/EU), leaving the decision whether an EIA is needed or not to the national competent authority. In the present case, a full Environmental Impact Assessment was commissioned by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy.
