Summary sheet
The project concerned is a global loan that will make funds available to either SMEs, Mid-Caps or private sector entities undertaking investments in Brazil.
The operation envisages support to local private sector development, in particular SMEs and Mid-Caps, which is one of the high-level horizontal objectives of the EIB’s revised external mandate.
The EIB carries out thorough due diligence on the intermediaries' capacity and procedures to adhere to the Bank’s standards and rules in administering EIB finance, notably on social and environmental principles, and, where appropriate, public consultation requirements.
All final beneficiaries will be private sector entities, which are not subject to public procurement rules. Nevertheless, the Bank will require the promoter to ensure that implementation of the projects will be done in accordance with the Bank’s Guide to Procurement.
This operation is covered by the EU Political Risk Guarantee for EIB loans outside the EU.
