Description
Objectives

Financing of transport infrastructure for sustainable mobility and increased accessibility in the framework of the Regional Operational Programme 2007-2013.

The project presented comprises the modernisation of seven suburban/regional railway lines in the Regione del Veneto as well as 16 road schemes which have been planned in the context of the new Passante Autostradale di Mestre.

Environmental aspects
Procurement

Most of the schemes are likely to fall under Annex II of the EIA directive. They are expected to have significant positive effects on the environment as the improvement of rail service quality will improve sustainable mobility, reducing road congestion in urban areas as well as road accidents.

The Bank will require the Promoter to ensure that contracts for the implementation of the project have been/shall be tendered in accordance with the relevant applicable EU procurement legislation, with parallel publication of tender notices in the EU Official Journal, as and where appropriate.
