Water supply and wastewater collection&treatment investments
The purpose of the project is compliance with the environmental water and wastewater quality and service standards set by the EU directives.
The project aims to improve the reliability and quality of water supply, sewage collection and treatment services, in line with the standards mandated by EU Directives and national legislation.. The respect of the EIA Directives (85/337 and 97/11) by the Promoter will be reviewed during appraisal.
The Bank will require the Promoter to ensure that contracts for the implementation of the project are tendered in line with the relevant applicable EU procurement legislation.

Complaints mechanism
Any complaint regarding alleged maladministration can be lodged via the EIB Complaints Mechanism. The European Ombudsman acts as an independent external accountability mechanism of the EIB.
