Summary sheet
The project consists of co-financing of a number of small and medium sized environmental investments in municipalities, public and private companies and individual households. Around 70% of funds are to be allocated to energy efficiency and renewable energy projects and 30% to other eligible projects, particularly waste management and wastewater treatement projects.
The objective is to promote environmental investments by granting loans on favourable terms to applicants from both the public and private sectors.
The Fund requires its final beneficiaries to submit project information related to Natura 2000 and Environmental Impact Assessments in line with European and National Environmental laws as part of their requests for allocation. This information is screened and respective environmental performance indicators are identified for monitoring.
The Fund’s public sector clients are bound by national procurement regulations in line with the European Directives on procurement. (EU 93/37/EEC, EU 93/36/EEC, EU 92/50/EEC, EU 97/52/EC, EU 93/38/EEC, EU 98/4/EC).
