    Description
    Objectives

    The project mainly consists of the rehabilitation and upgrading of the Bosnian power distribution system, renovation of several hydropower plants, under the country’s "Power IV" programme.

    The reduction of losses in the power system, and improved energy efficiency, will reduce operational costs and increase the quality and reliability of power supply as well as improving safety. These benefits are expected to make a substantial contribution to the on-going economic recovery.

    Procurement

    The Bank’s services will take care to ensure that proper attention is given to all environmental concerns and that appropriate mitigation measures are implemented, in line with the Bank’s relevant guidelines.

    The promoters is aware of the Bank procedures regarding procurement. Procurement procedures will be checked for consistency with the Bank’s guidelines and the relevant applicable European Union rules.
