Objectives

The Project comprises the construction and rehabilitation of seven higher education and research facilities.

The purpose of the Project is to upgrade existing teaching facilities and to increase the available space for research and higher education teaching activities in Austria.

Environmental aspects
Procurement

Education facilities are not included in EU Directive 97/11/EEC on Environmental Impact Assessment. In some cases the Annex II of the Directive can concern them as Urban Development projects. The current project encompasses rehabilitation works on existing premises and the construction of single buildings in urban areas dedicated to educational use; an EIA has not been required by the competent authorities.

Procurement procedures applied will be in compliance with EU Directives, applicable to public authorities’ procurement and national legislation.
