Establishment of regional airline operations including the acquisition of up to ten regional jet aircraft.
The aircraft purchase is part of Malév's strategy to establish regional operations in order to serve destinations in central and eastern Europe as well as secondary western European airports and to increase frequencies on some primary scheduled routes.
The introduction of modern aircraft will reduce noise and gaseous emissions as well as specific fuel burn per passenger-kilometre. Due to its nature, size and location, the project is not expected to have any significant negative impact on the environment.
Before placing its order, Malév undertook a comprehensive selection procedure taking into account all appropriate aircraft available on the market.
