Summary sheet
The project consists of a range of measures for expanding and reinforcing the promoter's electricity transmission network.
The project comprises a large number of geographically dispersed schemes on the Spanish transmission network throughout the country. The capacity being added over the two-year period includes high voltage substations, overhead lines and underground cables. Approximately 50% of the investments will benefit Objective 1 Assisted Areas, the remaining being located in Objective 2 Assisted Areas (40%) and non-assisted areas (10%).
The promoter is expected to follow the EU directive concerning preparation of Environmental Impact Assessments. In this project, it is possible that some schemes fall under Annex I of the EIA Directive – to be verified during appraisal.
The promoter is required to respect the Community Directives as regards invitations to tender (directive 93/38/EC).
