Summary sheet
The project concerns the 2002-2009 multiannual investment programme (PPI) of the University Hospital (Centre Hospitalier Universitaire, CHU) of Lyons. This programme forms part of the Regional Health Organisation Outline Plan (SROS) adopted by the Regional Hospital Agency (ARH) of the Rhône-Alpes Region. The key elements of this programme are (a) the construction of a new Paediatrics, Gynaecology & Obstetrics Hospital, (b) the restructuring of the Lyons South Hospital and (c) the restructuring of the Croix-Rousse Hospital. Other related works will be undertaken at a later stage.
Modernisation of the Lyons CHU's hospital structures, reorganisation of its medical services around three principal poles (North, South, East) with anticipated improvements in quality and efficiency, closure of the two most outdated healthcare establishments.
An Environmental Impact Assessment was not deemed necessary by the relevant authorities. As regards the management of clinical waste, the hospital is in compliance with the regulations in force.
Invitations to tender for all relevant contracts have been or will be published in the Official Journal of the European Communities.
