Werner Hoyer, President of the European Investment Bank announced today an emergency EUR 250,000 donation from the EU Bank`s own funds to India in response to the escalating COVID-19 crisis. The donation will go to Unicef Luxembourg, Red Cross International and Malteser International to acquire life-saving equipment in particular to improve access to oxygen including oxygen generation plants as well as the procurement of oxygen cylinders urgently needed across India.
The European Investment Bank (EIB) and the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development (HBOR) today signed an agreement to help HBOR to set up its own advisory services and enhance its capacity to support investments in key sectors of the Croatian economy, such as the environment, resource efficiency, the circular economy, smart cities and social infrastructure.
The European Investment Bank Group (EIB Group) provided €530 million in loans, equity and guarantees to clients in Croatia in 2020. The two parts of the EIB Group, the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Investment Fund (EIF), invested €342.5 million and €187.9 million, respectively, making 2020 a record year for the EIF in Croatia.
