As part of its ongoing dialogue with civil society, the EIB organises twice a year a Workshop for civil society organisations (CSOs), including NGOs, to discuss topics of mutual interest. EIB and CSOs together set the programme for the Workshop.
The next Workshop takes place in Bucharest on 13 November 2008 and will focus on Road Transport. EIB Vice-President Philippe de Fontaine Vive will chair the event.
Suggestions for the preliminary Programme
The Programme will include two sessions, introduced by EIB, Commission (TBC) and CSO speakers, followed by discussion. Indicative topics:
- EIB Lending Transport Policy
- The Regional Dimension (EIB’s transport activities in the Eastern and Central European Countries)
Interested CSOs are invited to comment or suggest other sub-topics in the same area for the plenary sessions by 31 October 2008. They also can request informal (bilateral) side meetings with EIB staff members.
The Workshop starts at 09:30 and will end at 13:30. A lunch will follow. The working language will be English.
Please note that this will be a closed, invitation only meeting to allow an in-depth exchange of views. The number of places available is limited. Priority will be given to those who asked to participate at an early stage. Invitations will be sent on request.
